Way of Council & Dreams

Bristol. TBA for 2024

Carl Jung said – Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness's of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

Our dream world brings into the day what lies in our unconscious from the depths of the night. Dreams bring together opposites, to help balance and bring us towards wholeness. Dreams help light the way forward in our lives. Dreams open our creatively, our imagination, our depth, they move us away from a liner life and take us into symbols, myths, and archetypes of the gods. Dreams open us to our most inner riches of our soul and help guide us towards our destiny.

Many indigenous tribal peoples had a natural understanding of listening and living from their dreams. We will be opening to practices and exercises in Council that embrace and open this consciousness.

The final Council will explore how the lessons learned can be brought back into our daily lives continuing the practice of questioning and discovering what it means to listen deeply and how this informs and guides our journey and how we support each other.

"You must give birth to your images
They are the future waiting to be born
Fear not the strangeness you feel
The future must enter you long before it happens
Just wait for the birth,
for the hour of clarity"

                                                                                Rainer Maria Rilke

Our time together will include:

  • Council practice and time in nature; dialoguing with the dream-world learning from within this mystery.

  • Our Council will bring together dream work from ancient tribal traditions and the modern dream work processes.

What you may learn

  • Skills for accessing and processing your dreams.

  • Using journal writing, art, poetry, storytelling and drama – we will deepen this practice by creating ceremony with the dream being the guide.

  • You will be making pathways to the language of your dreams and how they are trying to teach and help.
