The Way of Council - Courageous Listening in Community Finding the gifts in opposition & diversity

Bristol: May 1st - 3rd 2026

This Council is for - anyone feeling the strain of a fast-changing, polarised world and longing for a more human, grounded, compassionate way forward.
For those who sense the weight of division or uncertainty; who feel called to deepen their listening; who want courage, resilience, community, and a renewed connection with self, others, and the living world.
A Level two Council - a weekend for facilitators, activists, healers, educators, and for anyone yearning for more authentic relationship and a place to remember what truly matters.

Why this, why now?
We meet in a time of ecological unravelling, social fragmentation, and rising injustice.
For many of us our questions may be: How do I stay open when the world divides? What is my responsibility? How do I meet difference without fear?

Such times can harden our hearts, or call us into new ways of being.
The Way of Council offers this path: a practice of shared humanity, deep listening, and compassion that helps us hold the whole without turning away.

What will you gain?
Over this weekend, you will:

  • Learn the foundations of Council - speaking and listening from the heart

  • Build the capacity to meet difference with openness, not reactivity

  • Strengthen your ability to stay present amid polarisation

  • Rekindle a sense of belonging - to yourself and to community

  • Clarify your place and next steps in these changing times

  • Experience the nourishment of being truly witnessed, and witnessing others
Through story, silence, and shared inquiry, we will cultivate a community that honours diversity, welcomes challenge, and remembers the sacredness running through all life.
