Vision Quest for Elders
Snowdonia, North Wales: April 26th-May 7th 2020
The Vision Quest is an ancient ceremony to mark and move on from one life transition to another. This Vision Quest will take place in the mountains of Snowdonia, in North Wales.
Our base is a comfortable Grade II listed barn conversion dating back to the 17th century, created out of three barns to make a beautiful single dwelling. This is on the edge of the Rhinog Mountains, looking out to sea and the Cambrian coastline.
Included - is a well-equipped kitchen/dinning with a dishwasher and washing machine.
Several bedrooms to share, or for single private space there is land for camping.
Plus - an external drying room to drying waterproofs.
We move out to a base camp in the mountains for your solo time on the forth day, then return to this lovely place for the final two days.
The group will live as a small community, therefore you are asked to be responsible for yourselves. You provide your own food and cook for yourselves. (Closer to the start date we send the address list for you to plan meals together, or alone.)
There are a couple of local shops in the village within walking distance.
Porthmadog is the closest small town with a wider range of shops include a good health food store, camping shops and a large supermarket with some organic food.
Cost - £795, deposit £200 (non refundable & non-transferrable unless the vision quest is cancelled)
This includes all accommodation and camping (in your own tent) and the welcome meal.
You are welcome to contact me with any questions and to talk over the whole process.
To secure a place you need to send a non-refundable deposit along with a letter saying something of yourself and your past and issues you carry right now and why you wish to do this course. You will then be sent further details and a full equipment list. Plus the necessary medical forms, travel suggestions and a map to the venue. Our group size is always small to enhance the quality and to experience the depth of our work together. (So be mindful that places are limited).
Arrival is on Sunday (date to be arranged) in the afternoon between 3pm-6pm. This will give you time to settle in, pitch your tent if necessary and find your feet on this land. A welcome vegetarian dinner will be provided at 7pm this will be our first gathering with the opportunity to go over the logistics and form of the Vision Quest. (Any dietary needs so please let me know).
The ceremonial gate will open on Monday morning at 10am.
We will finish by 5pm on the Thursday (date to be arranged)
If you are coming by car there is plenty of parking available. Directions will be sent one month before the start date. (If you need this information before to plan with flight arrivals etc, then please email me) If you are travelling by train you can arrange to be picked up and dropped off with us from Harlech.
The timeless, miraculous beauty of now,
the sun shining, the sky bluing
the bee passing, the grass grassing
I laugh and weep with joy and gratitude
