Practical Info
Accommodation and Location
We are situated in the beautiful heart of Snowdonia National Park 2 miles away from Maentwrog village, 10 miles from Harlech to the south, and 10 miles from Snowdon to the north, in Gwynedd North Wales. UK . We are located in a privately- owned woodland that rests in wild landscape one mile behind a locked forestry gate. This offers a striking sense of freedom and security. There are excellent walks along a network of paths and tracks that take you through deciduous woods protected by the National Park and Woodlands Trust.
Our base is a stone cottage which has been tastefully renovated and has wind and solar power, mains electricity and a wood-burning stove. The cottage is warm, clean, spacious and light. The private garden has a table and benches for eating outside, and merges into the dell in which the cottage is secluded. For camping, the rugged and varied landscape provides open spaces or secret hideaways .
We provide this as a base and home. Our group will live as a small community and you are asked to be responsible for yourselves. You will therefore provide your own food and cooking. Penrhyndeudraeth (4 miles) has a range of small shops including a post office and a garage. Porthmadog (8 miles) has a wider range of shops including camping shops and a large supermarket with some organic food.
